At Chiropractic Plus, we offer a wide range of non-invasive electrotherapy treatment options. Electrotherapy uses electrical energy in forms that vary in terms of waveform, frequency and effect.
Inferential Current (IFC)
A medium frequency electrical current which is used for pain relief and initiation of healing, as it stimulates local nerve cells to block the transmission of pain signals and encourages the release of pain reducing endorphins. It also increases local blood flow through gentle contractions of local musculature, leading to the initiation of a healing response.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Low-level electrical currents are used to stimulate and contract muscles. This treatment helps to build basic tone and strength in weakened muscles and to force the contraction of these muscles in a coordinated pattern so as to strengthen the link between the brain and normal muscle movements.
Microcurrent
Microcurrent is a physical therapy modality that uses tiny electrical current to help relieve pain and heal soft tissues of the body. The electrical current used in microcurrent therapy is similar to the amperage produced by the body’s own cells. This means that patients don’t typically feel microcurrent, so the treatment is completely painless.
